Who we are

Founded by Carl Rahn Griffith, egoboss represents a wealth of knowledge, gained from over three decades of experience developing high-technology businesses for both American and European companies. Roles have included: company director; senior manager; board advisor; independent consultant; entrepreneur in residence. Working with VCs, ISVs, corporates, regulatory authorities (FSA, FMA), media, and major IT organisations. In 2007, VC funding was secured for the development of the Web2.0 personalised-news service 'ensembli', which was developed from the egoboss business plan.

  • egoboss: Working with a variety of ISVs, VCs, Analysts, New Media (eg: cybertime_games, Flux Corporation, Enterprise Ventures, ViewPoint Capital Partners, Opalis (Microsoft), Tidal Software (Cisco), VNU (Incisive Media), Servicetrace, PRWeb (Vocus), Daotec, Viking Fund, CirrusIQ, Gartner, Rope Ventures): Analyst, VC & New Media briefings - SWOT/competition analysis - product messaging & positioning - market demographics - sales & marketing - CxO mentoring - identifying new routes to market - merger and acquisition research - company valuations, etc. Regions covered: USA, UK, Canada, Europe. (2004 - current).

  • Co-Founder, ensembli: Developed business plan and secured VC funding to enable the proactive, personalised news service - ensembli - to become realised. Released Q4 2008.

  • Senior Advisor to the Board for a European Independent Software Vendor, UC4 Software (The Carlyle Group): Planning & executing international growth strategy - SWOT/competition tactics - product management - market research - briefing analysts, VC's and media organizations - global sales education. Based in New York City during 2003, establishing the USA subsidiary. Regions covered: USA, UK, Europe. (2001-04).

  • Working with leading global Enterprise Systems Management software vendors, Platinum technology (CA) and BMC Software: European marketing - European sales education - product management - strategic account management - acquisition target analysis - vertical market development. Regions covered: USA, UK, Europe, Israel. (1996-2001).

  • Business Development & Consultancy practice-leader roles with Morse and Micromuse (IBM): Focused on the investment banking & telco vertical-markets. Regions covered: UK, Europe. (1992-96).

  • Established the UK subsidiary for an innovative USA software start-up, Applix (IBM): UK Managing Director. Regions covered: USA, UK, Europe. (1988-92).

  • Sabbatical period travelling Australia. (1986-88).

  • Working with leading Financial & Retail organisations, CT Bowring (Marsh & McLennan) and Tesco: Operations, analysis and programming. Regions covered: UK. (1980-86).
